The Scientific Program Committee invites you to submit your research in the form
of a one-page abstract (2500 characters) for the 2014 IAYT Symposium on Yoga
Research (SYR). We welcome scholarly research-based submissions related to any
tradition or aspect of Yoga. While general literature reviews are not
acceptable, meta-analyses or rigorous systematic reviews of original yoga
research literature will be welcomed. Case study abstracts will also be
welcomed. Authors with a background in Yoga, integrative health care, and/or
scientific research are all encouraged to submit.
Abstracts should include unpublished material and data. Material that has been formally published by the
abstract submission dates will not be accepted. Most abstracts without data to support findings will be
rejected. However, abstracts that describe study design and methods for well-developed and/or funded studies
(i.e., no abstracts for pilot or preliminary studies) may be considered for poster presentation depending on
abstract quality. However, such abstracts will not be published in the International Journal of Yoga Therapy supplement.
All abstracts will be anonymously peer reviewed, scored and chosen on merit for poster presentation during SYR.
All accepted abstracts (other than study design and methods abstracts) will be published in a supplement to the
International Journal of Yoga Therapy – which will be available to all participants at the meeting.
Individuals whose abstract are selected will be required to register for the meeting; abstracts from authors who do not
register will not be accepted. All abstract submitters must register for SYR 2014 by July 4 following notification of
acceptance/rejection.
