Wednesday, June 4

Pre-Meeting for Prospective Accreditation Committee Members
2:30-3:45 pm

Open to member school program directors and faculty
Educators and practitioners of yoga, yoga therapy, Ayurveda and other complementary disciplines are also welcome.
Those with experience in accreditation and/or credentialing are especially encouraged to come.

4:00 - 5:30 pm

Understanding the Accreditation Process
Topics to include:

The accreditation journey so far
What does it mean to have an accredited program, compared to being a Member School
Understanding competencies, learning objectives, student and school resources, transfers, etc.
Group discussions on the differences between teaching on a teacher training program and a yoga therapy training program and the differences in the material taught

Continuing discussions on understanding the accreditation process
Topics to include:

Group discussions on minimum qualifications for a teacher providing training on a yoga therapy training program.
Clarifying the requirements for faculty as stated in the IAYT Standards
Sharing of group discussion and outcomes

Proposed new model for the community of schools and a regular meeting of schools
Discussions on the positioning and marketing of accredited programs, qualified yoga therapists and our field in general
